The Stakes Of The Election Couldn’t Be Higher

The Many Issues to Consider in this Election

After wife and mother Bevelyn Beatty Williams was sent to jail for her protest outside an abortion clinic, her friend Christina Bennett realized the stakes of the upcoming election were much higher than she had previously considered. On the Allie Beth Stuckey podcast this month, Stuckey recounted how Bennett had vowed that she would not vote for someone who was anything less than avidly pro-life and, believing that the former president held flippant regard for the right to life of pre born babies, would vote for neither Kamala Harris nor Trump. Stuckey said that after Williams was sent to jail, Bennett told her social media followers she will vote for Trump, “for her sake and for the possibility that she could be pardoned.”

“People can think what they may and I don’t care,” Bennett said. “Never did I imagine I’d see a beautiful young black mother going to jail for trying to save babies. Vote for Joan Bell. Vote for Bevelyn. Vote for true justice. If you don’t like Trump, at the very least vote against the woman who is putting pro-lifers in jail and who is funded by those killing the babies.”

For Bennett, the stakes of the election had become higher. She had a friend persecuted by the Biden-Harris administration and she understood that to “love thy neighbor,” she needed to do everything she could to get her neighbors’ persecutors out of the White House.

When the election was certified for Biden in 2020, I had many friends immediately claim the election was stolen. I thought that was a far cry, but more significantly, I didn’t think they should be all that worried about four years of President Joe Biden. He had cultivated a reputation as a folksy old-style Democrat, and in my teenaged naïveté, I believed him. But over the next four years, it became clear to me how much damage the modern day Democrat party can inflict on my country. My tax dollars are funding an illegal invasion via our southern border, as a mass of fighting age males pour into the country, quite literally flipping us off as they flout our laws and customs. At the top, our military is a transvestite laughingstock that cost American servicemen and women their lives when Biden made a disastrous pullout from Afghanistan. The justice system has been unleashed against Democrats’ political opponents in a CCP-style crusade that has placed champions for unborn life behind bars for years, while those same officials call us the “extremists.” The U.S. dollar is losing its status internationally as inflation wrecks our economy and makes Americans tangibly poorer. White House officials are colluding with medical professionals to ensure that gender-confused children can cut off their healthy body parts.

The only reason things weren’t worse was due to Supreme Court justices Trump put on the bench while in office. These justices struck down a vaccine mandate that would affect millions of Americans, as well as a rewriting of Title IX which would create a federal mandate that schools allow boys to undress in girl’s locker rooms. Perhaps most significantly, Trump-appointed justices struck down Roe v. Wade, the decision that has aided the murder of millions of babies in the womb.

I have heard Christian pastors subtly encourage their congregations to think twice before casting a Trump vote. Their simple argument is that Trump supports some measure of baby-killing and that amount is too much. But these pastors and Christian leaders don’t understand the stakes of this election. It is not an exaggeration to say that Trump is not only our only hope to stay out of war, secure our border, and get ahead economically again, but more importantly, is the only practical tool at hand which Christians can  use to save untold millions of unborn lives.

A President Kamala Harris would codify a version of Roe that would make the 1973 SCOTUS decision seem conservative. Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Center, which overturned Roe, returned the issue to the states, allowing red states to restrict the barbaric practice without the federal government overriding those laws and pronouncing an unconstitutional “right” to abortion. But under Harris’s administration, state level victories for the life movement would be overridden by federal executive orders legalizing abortion on demand, up to the moment of birth or after, and probably funded by taxpayers.

Under a President Kamala Harris, pro-lifers will be jailed unceremoniously. The tyranny of the FACE act will run rampant as the partisan “Justice” Department continues to persecute champions for life. This political and religious persecution will discourage many pro-life Americans from performing this life-saving work outside abortion clinics.

At a recent rally, Harris told an attendee shouting “Jesus is Lord” that they “were at the wrong rally.” Harris’ stated contempt for Christians will result in her administration systematically stripping away religious freedom. The Biden-Harrris administration tried to force Christians to take a vaccine that relied on the stem cells of aborted babies in 2021. Just recently, Harris vowed to force Christian hospitals to perform abortions, despite their religious objections. The anti-Christian tilt of a Harris administration will only grow worse if she is elected next month.

While many Christian leaders see the crisis at the border as a worldly and unimportant concern — and while some even celebrate it — the influx of illegal aliens and their inexplicable presence on our voter rolls will effectively neuter any Christian opposition to the Democrat regime. Illegal aliens will vote for the party giving them the handouts, essentially guaranteeing Democrat victories in the White House and down ballot for the foreseeable future. Unruly states and counties who continue to vote against the Democrat party will be given the Springfield, Ohio treatment and will watch as their voice is diluted by a mass invasion of foreigners.

In other words, forget installing your pro-life hero in the White House in 2028 after teaching Trump and the GOP a lesson by staying home next month. That’s a pipe dream at best, at worst it’s a dangerous lie that will lead to untold millions of innocent lives lost. Not to mention, Trump has delivered possibly the only tangible pro-life victory on the national level in recent memory, after decades of Republican presidents promising the life movement massive wins and instead supporting the exact “exceptions” which Trump says he supports.

It is baffling that any Christian leader would influence his congregation to sit out an election with such high stakes. Contentment with the reality of earthly persecution for our Lord’s sake does not mean willfully choosing to withhold our political voice when we have the power to save our Christian brethren from bondage. So vote Trump to save your brothers and sisters in Christ from jail. Vote Trump so your vote can continue to have the ability to influence the state of the country for righteousness. Vote Trump so you can issue a firm rebuke to the party of abortion vans and child sex changes.

  1. Really? Isn’t It Trump who is promising to jail people indiscriminately while planning to let those who are guilty for Jan 6 free?

I sympathize with the anti elective abortion stance. But reducing pro-life to just abortion demonstrates black-white thinking. And not only does such thinking make one more vulnerable to supporting dictators, it causes one to neglect a host of information and other concerns. Being pro-life means wanting to eliminate the unnecessary premature ending of life. And there are many ways by which that be done especially to those who have been born. Especially to immigrants who came here to escape poverty and/or violence, some of which was significantly contributed to by US foreign policies. Being concerned about life also means wanting to reduce the future effects of global warming before rising seas swallow up land on which hundreds of millions of people live. Being for life means opposing the poisoning of our environment that often has different effects on those outside of urban areas than inside. Being pro-life also means both opposing militarism and dictators. Being pro-life also means opposing the renewed nuclear arms races, which restarted under Trump’s watch when he was President. Being pro-life also means supporting social safety nets so that there are fewer vulnerable people. And while the wealthiest complain about taxes, we should remember that human life is perhaps the highest maintenance life form on earth. Being pro-life also means opposing economic systems, like our current Neo-liberal Capitalism, which have produced increasing wealth and income disparities both between the races and the the economic classes. After all, wealth and income are big factors in being able to afford decent healthcare.

I could go on but the point being is that when we employ black-white to our understanding of our world, not only do we become more vulnerable to wannabe dictators, like Trump, we start forming opinions with near-empty knowledge and information fuel tanks.

      1. Gojira71,
Say what you want, but you seem to avoid addressing specific issues and statements. Until you do, your comments will constitute rational objects to what I write.

      2. Gojira,
Two corrections in my last comment:

‘Say what you want, but you seem to avoid addressing specific issues and statements. Until you do, your comments will not constitute rational objectionss to what I write.’

        1. I’m not interested in offering rational objections to the garbage you write. It’s not worth the time and effort.

    1. ‘The term “pro-life” originated in the 1960s in response to efforts to liberalize abortion laws.’ Google AI

      1. Jill,
And yet, what does the name itself imply? How consistent is it to not show the same concern for life after birth as one shows for life before birth?

  2. Why is a woman allowed to speak in public? Don’t you realize men could read your words and learn something, thereby violating the ban on women teaching found in 1 Timothy? Why, in fact, do you as a woman think you have anything to contribute here at all? Don’t you have a floor to scrub? Besides, the men in your life can manage voting, having money, owning, property, all the activities that involve thinking. You, Sara, need to go fold laundry.

Seriously, the hypocrisy of right wing women rises to lethal levels.

    1. Karen, I pray the Lord will take away your anger and replace it with His peace.

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
