Self-Governance and Self-Worship
It is not too late for Americans to regain our capacity for self-governance. But that will require a shift away from the current epidemic of self-worship.
James Spiegel is a John Templeton Research Fellow at Hillsdale College. He has published eleven books and over 100 articles and book chapters. His publications, which primarily explore issues in ethics, philosophy of religion, and virtue epistemology, have appeared in such scholarly journals as Philosophia, Metaphilosophy, Faith and Philosophy, Sophia, Science and Engineering Ethics, and the International Journal for Philosophy of Religion as well as popular periodicals such as Christianity Today, Books and Culture, and Touchstone.
