A Benediction

A Prayer Spoken at the National Conservatism Conference 2025

Our Father and our God,

We come before you with humble hearts, for you are the Creator and Sustainer of Heaven and Earth. There is none like you, and there is no other God in heaven above or on earth below. There is only One True Name given among men by which we must be saved: the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We give praise to you, Spirit of God, for being our advocate and for hovering over us with your sovereign power. We bring our prayers to you because you invite us to approach boldly before the throne of grace. We believe it is thoroughly arrogant when the media trivializes prayer. For those who love God, there is no greater delight than entrusting our cares and the cares of our nation to you.

We ask, Triune God, that you use your right hand to turn this nation to our Protestant roots—a nation guided by the eternal law of Sacred Scriptures and the guiding principles that have established our Western tradition. Our nation has lost its moral compass. We don’t know our left hand from our right. We have amused ourselves to death, and in our amusement, we have lost ground to enemy territory. We have lost our children and our children’s children to ideologies of despair and suicide. The Democrats have spurred cultural confusion; they don’t even know where our rights come from because they have exchanged the worship of God for the worship of created things, and so they have received an inheritance of pagan gods who

have mouths, but they do not speak;

Eyes, but they do not see;

Ears, but they do not hear;

Noses, but they do not smell;

Hands, but they do not handle;

Feet, but they do not walk;

Those who make them are like them;

So is everyone who trusts in them.

We, your people, trust in the Lord our God, maker of heaven and earth. And so, we pray, Holy and Righteous God, urge us to flee from the idolatry of man, lest we become vain in our imagination, and you turn us over to our reprobate minds. We entreat you to turn our hearts to our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who is the Word made flesh; very God of very God; true God of true God; begotten not made—in Him we live and move and have our being. Turn us back to the promises made to Israel that we may be a people called by Your name, humbled before You, praying and seeking Your face, and turning from our wicked ways, then we will hear from heaven, and You will forgive our sin and heal our land.

We come boldly before the throne of grace and ask that, just as you did with Roe, now we pray that you will overrule Obergefell. Return us to your revelation where the created order is made plain in the formation of one man and one woman, and in the impossibility of any other sexual cohesion apart from that of male and female in your image.

We thank you for our President, Donald J. Trump, and for the wise investors of truth whom you have placed as his companions. Grant our President strength and determination to pursue the good of our nation. Do not let him grow weary in well-doing. We also give thanks for the efforts of #NatCon, this incredible collection of people who willingly dedicate their scholarship, time, zeal, and intellect to advancing the conversation about a true national conservatism that rejects the claims of globalism, with its intent to undermine national sovereignty and its egalitarian pursuits. We give thanks for Dr. Yoram Hazony and his relentless efforts in forming coalitions that can properly stand against the rising tide of leftism and liberalism.

Give ear, O Lord, to our prayer! Bless the United States of America, for you are not a speechless god, but a God who speaks the world into existence and who speaks through your beloved Son by the Power of your Spirit. All glory, honor, and majesty be unto you, forever and ever, amen!
